What we install
Fixtures
Sinks, faucets, toilets, tubs, shower valves and utility sinks. We connect them, test for drips and make sure drains clear at full flow.
Supply lines and shutoffs
Quarter-turn shutoff valves, braided stainless supply lines and new branch lines where a fixture is added or moved.
Appliance connections
Dishwasher supply and drain, refrigerator ice maker line, washer box and a water heater tie-in. Each needs its own valve and the right drain path.
Drains and vents
P-traps, tailpieces and sink drains, plus the vent that lets a drain flow without gurgling.
Before you buy the fixture
Bring the model number or a photo of the box when you call. A fixture that does not match the existing holes, valve spacing or drain location can turn a one-hour swap into a repair job. Tell us if the old unit is leaking, since a rotted cabinet floor or seized shutoff changes the plan.
For fixtures that are already failing, our faucet repair and toilet repair pages explain when repair makes more sense than a new install. A fixture that still works often needs only a new part.
Plumbing installation: common jobs and what they involve
| Job | What gets installed | Permit question |
|---|---|---|
| Swap a faucet or toilet in place | New fixture, new supply lines and shutoffs | Often no, but ask the building department |
| Add a sink or vanity | New supply stops, drain, trap and vent connection | Likely yes |
| Dishwasher or ice maker hookup | Supply valve, hose or tubing, drain connection | Depends on the scope, so ask |
| Move a toilet or tub | New drain and vent, floor opened | Yes |
| Bathroom or kitchen remodel | Rough-in for all fixtures before walls close | Yes |
| Add a bathroom | New supply, drain, vent and fixtures | Yes |
This table is a guide, not a rule. Permit requirements depend on the exact work, so the building department makes the final call. Call the Village at (561) 790-5128 and describe the job.
Dishwasher, ice maker and sink drain details
A dishwasher drain must not let sink water flow back into the machine. Plumbers do this with a high loop under the counter or an air gap on the sink deck. An ice maker needs a small dedicated supply line with its own shutoff, not a shared hose that cannot be isolated.
Sink drains are a common source of slow leaks. Slip nuts loosen, plastic traps crack, and a kitchen disposal adds another connection. If your project includes a disposal, see garbage disposal service for how those units are wired and plumbed.
Remodel rough-in: plan the pipes before the cabinets
Rough-in is the part you never see once the drywall is up. It sets the shower valve height, the toilet flange location and the drain slope. Mistakes here are expensive to undo, because the fix means opening the finished wall or floor.
Moving a fixture is a bigger job than swapping one. A toilet needs a large drain with slope to the main line, and a floor on a slab means cutting concrete. Bring your layout plan early, ideally before tile and cabinets are ordered.
New construction plumbing
For a new build, plumbing happens in stages: underground drains and supply before the slab, rough-in inside the framing, then fixtures at the finish. The Village comp plan allows new development only where central water and sewer are available, so a new home in Royal Palm Beach connects to Palm Beach County Water Utilities. PBCWUD also notes that new residential services with a 1.5 inch or larger meter need a tested backflow assembly, installed by a licensed plumbing contractor.
How an install visit works
- 1
Scope the job
We confirm the fixture, the location, the existing pipe material and what shutoffs are in place. Photos help us bring the right parts.
- 2
Permit check
If the work needs one, we confirm the path with the building department before opening anything. Owner-builder jobs need a notarized affidavit.
- 3
Install and connect
We shut off water at the nearest valve, set the fixture, run supply lines and connect the drain. Water goes back on slowly to check for air and leaks.
- 4
Test and walk-through
We run every new fixture, check under each connection with a dry paper towel and show you where the shutoffs are.
Permits and checking your plumber
The Village says most work done in Royal Palm Beach requires a building permit, so call (561) 790-5128 before an install that goes beyond a like-for-like swap. The Florida Building Code, Plumbing, 8th Edition (2023) is the edition in effect. Check any plumber's license at MyFloridaLicense.com with the Verify a License tool.
We price after we know the job, then quote before we start.
Fixture and parts quality
A builder-grade faucet and a commercial-style pull-down fixture need different valves, supply lines and labor.
Access
Under a cabinet, in an open wall or through a slab. Tight or finished spaces take longer.
Pipe condition
Old or corroded shutoffs often cannot be reused, and brittle pipe may need repair before a new fixture connects.
Moving versus replacing
Putting a fixture where the old one was is simple. Moving it means new drain, vent and supply.
Permit and inspection
Larger jobs carry permit fees and inspection steps, which we build into the plan.
We supply labor and common parts, and you may supply your own fixture. Tell us when you call so the plan matches. Call (561) 448-8545 for a clear price before work starts.
Call and describe the fixtures and the room. We will tell you what to have ready.
Royal Palm Beach installation notes
Know your utility
Most of the Village is on Palm Beach County Water Utilities, while addresses south of Southern Blvd are on Wellington Utilities. Give us your utility when you call so we find the right meter and main.
Water heater tie-ins
A new bathroom often means more hot water demand. If your tank is old, water heater installation can be planned at the same time, saving a second visit.
Serving nearby homes
We also serve homeowners in Wellington, where the building division lists its own plumbing packet. Planned installs are scheduled the same way there.
Sources and standards
New fixtures, supply lines and drains must meet the Florida Building Code, Plumbing, 8th Edition (2023), the standard used by inspectors. Contractors are licensed by the Construction Industry Licensing Board, and MyFloridaLicense.com lets anyone verify a license by name or number.
Royal Palm Beach plumbing installation questions
What does plumbing installation include?
Fixtures, supply lines, shutoff valves, appliance hookups, sink drains and the rough-in for remodels. It also includes new construction stages. Tell us what you are installing and we confirm the scope.
Can I supply my own fixture?
Yes in most cases. Tell us the brand and model when you call so we bring the right valves and connectors. We cannot warranty the fixture itself.
Do I need a permit to install a new sink or toilet?
A like-for-like swap often does not. Adding or moving fixtures usually does. Ask the Village building department at (561) 790-5128.
Can you hook up my dishwasher and ice maker?
Yes. Each needs its own supply valve, and the dishwasher drain needs a high loop or air gap. We test both before we leave.
Do you work on new construction?
Yes, for planned installs at each stage of the build. Share the plans and the stage you are at so we can schedule properly.
How soon can an install be scheduled?
Same-day appointments are offered when available. Larger jobs such as rough-in are scheduled around the build or remodel.
